* at Pittsburgh 6, Chicago 1: The Cubs started their trip as the only Central Division team with a winning record on the road, 33-32, but couldn’t do much against Tom Gorzelanny, who limited them to six hits and a run in seven innings.

* Florida 6, at Philadelphia 3: A fielding error by left fielder Pat Burrell and throwing error by first baseman Ryan Howard led to three unearned runs during a four-run fourth inning.

* at New York 11, Houston 3: Lastings Milledge made a diving catch with the bases loaded to help thwart a potential rally in the sixth inning, then hit a three-run homer for the Mets.

* at Cincinnati 11, Milwaukee 4: The Reds scored six runs in the first inning, then Ken Griffey Jr. hit his 593rd homer in the second. Prince Fielder had one of the Brewers’ few highlights, hitting his league-leading 42nd homer.

* at Colorado 10, San Diego 4: After starter Elmer Dessens left because of an injury in the third inning, the Rockies used nine relievers. The 10 total pitchers was an NL record for a nine-inning game.

* at Arizona 4, St. Louis 2: Brandon Webb, who had lost his last two after winning six in a row, earned his 15th victory. Jose Valverde pitched the ninth for his major league-best 43rd save in 50 chances.

* at Atlanta 7, Washington 1: Chipper Jones hit a three-run homer, and the Nationals helped Atlanta’s cause by committing five throwing errors.

* at San Francisco 5, Dodgers 4: James Loney had his second multihomer game and first since Sept. 28 at Colorado.
