Milberg witness pleads guilty

John B. Torkelsen, who served as an expert witness for indicted law firm Milberg Weiss, agreed to plead guilty to lying to federal judges about the payments he received.
Torkelsen, 62, who is serving a prison sentence in an unrelated matter, agreed to plead guilty to one count of perjury, the U.S. attorney in Los Angeles said. He hid from the courts that he was being paid on a contingency basis for his testimony, prosecutors said.
