Deputies attacked after hit-and-run
A man trying to flee a hit-and-run traffic accident in Paramount attacked two sheriff’s deputies before being subdued.
The deputies were treated for minor knee and leg injuries and released from a local hospital, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Christopher Reed.
Reed said Wahziq Ohmndraydeni, 30, of Perris tried to flee after hitting a car with his Chevy Blazer at a gas station on Rosecrans Avenue west of Orange Avenue about 10:30 a.m. No one was hurt in the traffic accident, he said.
When the deputies tried to stop Ohmndraydeni, he attacked them with a sharp weapon, Reed said. Ohmndraydeni kicked at the deputies and escaped several times before the deputies restrained him with a Taser, Reed said.
