Force powers by Avengers
ATLANTA -- Chris Greisen threw seven touchdown passes, including three to Troy Bergeron, and the Georgia Force cruised past the Avengers, 58-34, Saturday night, handing them their first loss of the season.
Greisen completed 26 of 41 for 366 yards, Bergeron had seven catches for 151 yards and newly acquired Charles Pauley had 10 receptions for 134 yards and two touchdowns for the Force (1-2).
Sonny Cumbie was 20 of 38 for 317 yards and five touchdowns for the Avengers. Cumbie, who was tied for the league lead with 14 touchdown passes, has now thrown 19 scoring passes this season.
Timon Marshall led the Avengers with nine catches for 172 yards and two touchdowns.
The Avengers (2-1) entered the game having yielded only 37.5 points a game -- tops in the league.
