3 hurt as driver hits post office
A woman drove her car into a Burbank post office Monday, injuring three people, police said.
The incident was reported just after noon at the Burbank Post Office at 2140 N. Hollywood Way, said Burbank Police Sgt. Tracy Sanchez.
Three people were hurt -- the driver, a post office employee and a 62-year-old man -- though none of the injuries were serious, Sanchez said.
The 62-year-old man suffered a head injury and was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center.
He was “conscious and alert” and appeared to be recovering, Sanchez said.
Alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash. The driver, who police said was older than 65, may have stepped on the gas thinking it was the brake, Sanchez said.
