Man killed by police identified
An unarmed man fatally shot over the weekend by Culver City police was identified Wednesday by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Alejandro Erazo, 25, was shot and killed at California Avenue and Frederick Street in Venice after he allegedly refused to follow orders and reached for his waistband, authorities said.
Erazo was a passenger in a vehicle matching the description of a car that fled from a crime scene in Culver City. A two-man police car followed the vehicle into Venice after spotting it. The officers had waited for backup units.
Authorities said Erazo was not armed, but a firearm was found inside the car.
