Cowboys-Redskins matchup could be interesting despite disparity in teams’ records

Al Michaels serves as the play-by-play announcer and Cris Collinsworth provides the color commentary for tonight’s Dallas at Washington game (5:15 p.m., Channel 4):

Michaels says ...

“The Redskins will be an easy team to look past but this is no time for the Cowboys to revert to an inconsistent pattern. A win tonight sets up a battle with the Eagles next Sunday to determine the NFC East champion. The Cowboys barely beat the Redskins in Texas last month so take nothing for granted. If the Redskins win this game, it might set up a new battle for the these two long-time rivals . . . Which of them does Mike Shanahan coach next season?”

Collinsworth says ...

“Under all that pressure in New Orleans, the Cowboys stepped up and played one of the best games I’ve seen all year. They were physical, they executed their offense, and they were brilliant. And on the other side, you have Washington coming off one of its worst performances maybe in a decade. In general, this is when you get the team that played really well coming back to the pack, and the team that played poorly jumping up and playing their best football.”
