Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth discuss Cardinals vs. Giants

Share

Al Michaels serves as the play-by-play announcer and Cris Collinsworth provides the color commentary for tonight’s Arizona at New York Giants game (5:15, Channel 4):

Michaels says ...

This game is important to the Giants as a litmus test of where they are at this point. And for the Cardinals, they’re always undergoing a litmus test. As they proved last year, they could look fabulous or horrid. The way they started out this year, it looked like they would have that same sort of a season, but now they’ve looked pretty good in the past two games. The thing that’s always hard for them is playing in the Eastern time zone.

Collinsworth says ...

With the Giants last week you want to say, “OK, they had a bad day.” But it does bring into question all the issues leading into that game: Have they played the kind of competition that would make you believe this is the best team in football? Certainly the Saints played their game, throwing the ball and all that. Now, Arizona is the same kind of team -- great quarterback, great receivers -- and the Saints were able to pick the Giants apart. If the Giants play that way against Arizona, Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Breaston and those other guys are going to pick them apart too.
