“Eva Hesse Spectres 1960” German-born artist Eva Hesse’s death in 1970 cut short a career that ascended to unprecedented heights for a female artist at that time. For “Eva Hesse Spectres 1960,” the Hammer brings together an ambitious series of early works from 1960, completed prior to the sculptural assemblages for which she would become best known. The small paintings, made when Hesse was 24, balance the psychologically fraught with the gestural, peopled with quasi-self-portraits and other alien forms. Hammer Museum, 10899 Wilshire Blvd., L.A. Autumn Lights L.A. The autumnal equinox signals the annual onset of longer nights and shorter days. To celebrate the newfound darkness, the multimedia event Autumn Lights L.A. will illuminate Pershing Square with light-based art, including projections, installations and performances. ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ 35th Anniversary Everyone’s favorite “sweet transvestite”-starring, time-warp traveling movie musical is turning 35, and fans from around the country are converging on L.A. for the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” 35th Anniversary Convention; four days of parties, screenings, costume contests and panel discussions (“Rocky Horror” star Barry Bostwick is slated to appear). “Enter the Void” The tale of drug-dealer Oscar and his nightclub stripper sister Linda’s experiences in Tokyo’s underbelly is sure to spark debate over French director Gaspar Noé’s decision to shoot the film from Oscar’s point-of-view — even through intense drug trips. Los Angeles Craft Beer Crawl For craft-beer fans and newcomers alike, there will be plenty of new names to learn at the Los Angeles Craft Beer Crawl, which will celebrate the craft-beer movement with more than 50 beers, seven bars and five hours to drink your fill. The inaugural downtown event will feature a beer lineup chosen by “The Naked Pint” authors the Beer Chicks, a food truck selection curated by Jonathan Gold, and a charity component, with Heal the Bay benefiting from the proceeds.
