Principal at Mesa West Capital Steve Fried serves as the head of originations for the national loan originations teams in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and San Francisco. He oversees a platform that typically originates approximately $3 billion in mortgages annually. During his 22-year tenure, he has been instrumental in navigating market challenges and growing the firm into a premier U.S. commercial real estate lender. Fried serves on both the investment and management committees, where he guides a conservative originate-and-hold strategy. Over the last 36 months, he has delivered more than $1.9 billion in financing for multifamily, industrial and student housing projects. Recent transactions include a $55-million mortgage for the Burton House Beverly Hills and a $43.5-million refinancing for the Broadstone Los Feliz community.
