By serving as the lead attorney for East West Bank in an $18-million production loan for the film Bear Country, Vanessa Roman is a partner on the media, entertainment and sports team at Akin. She specializes in complex financing and acquisition transactions for major distributors and production companies, including a $500-million credit facility refinancing for an investment banking client. Roman recently represented Bank of America in a $300-million facility for Miramax Films and advised MUFG Bank on production loans totaling more than $110 million. She sits on the board of Female Executives in Media and Entertainment and contributes pro bono counsel to the American Film Institute to preserve American film heritage. She also assists the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in securing intellectual property clearances for historical film photography and footage.
