David P. Lefebvre is special counsel at Covington & Burling LLP, where he advises leading media and entertainment companies, sports leagues and content owners on complex licensing, distribution and media rights agreements. His practice spans traditional and digital platforms, including streaming, broadcast, cable and mobile. Lefebvre recently co-led Disney’s $8.5-billion merger of Star India with Viacom18 and advised on Paramount Global’s proposed $8-billion merger with Skydance Media. He also represented Disney in a landmark carriage deal with Charter Spectrum, praised as transformative for the industry. He regularly supports clients with high-value network agreements, rights deals and MFN analyses. In addition to his commercial work, Lefebvre maintains an active pro bono practice representing foster families, domestic violence survivors and humanitarian parole applicants.
