Joseph Rust, chief strategic innovation officer at Prager Metis, leads the firm’s Western Region and advisory services department while overseeing innovation initiatives firmwide. A 40-year veteran with Prager Metis, he is widely known for recovering royalties and managing IP valuation and licensing issues in the music and entertainment industries. Rust works with recording artists, publishers and executives to provide strategic planning, audit and business management services. As a thought leader, he contributes regularly to panels on artificial intelligence and copyright law and helps develop proprietary AI tools to track streaming revenues and detect royalty discrepancies. He is a board member of the California Southland Alzheimer’s Association and has been involved in fundraising and awareness efforts.
