NBC announces midseason premiere dates for five new shows

NBC has been saving its midseason shows until after the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, but Olympics viewers will get sneak peeks of two of the new shows during the Olympics.

“About a Boy,” based on the Nick Hornby novel, will air its first episode on Feb. 21 following the wrap-up of Olympics coverage for the day. But its regular time slot premiere will be Feb. 25, following “The Voice” at 9 p.m.

The other new comedy, “Growing Up Fisher,” about a family going through a divorce, starring J.K. Simmons and Jenna Elfman, will make its first appearance during the Olympics on Feb. 23 before its regular time slot debut on Feb. 25 following “About a Boy” at 9:30 p.m.

“Believe,” the new suspense drama from J.J. Abrams and Alfonso Cuaron, will premiere a few weeks after the Olympics, with the first episode getting a preview following “The Voice” on March 10 before settling into its regular time slot on March 16 at 9 p.m.

NBC’s other new drama, “Crisis,” starring Gillian Anderson and Dermot Mulroney as a Secret Service agent who stumbles into an international crisis during his first day on the job, will also premiere on March 16, following “Believe.”

A new reality competition series, “American Dream Builders,” featuring well-known designers and architects competing against each other on various home renovation projects, will be the last new series to premiere on March 23 at 8 p.m.
