If you consider bacon your first love (who doesn’t?), you’ll want to snag a seat on the upcoming bacon tour. It’s a four-hour bus tour, put on by excursion company Secret City, devoted to all things bacon in Los Angeles.

On May 17 at 10 a.m., 40 bacon lovers will meet at the Unversal City Red Line station. They’ll hop on a bus and drive around the city in search of bacon.

This is the third bacon tour for husband-wife duo John and Laura Bwarie, who own Secret City and organize various food tours.

“Our first tour was a Lebanese [food] tour in 2012, then a doughnut tour and taco tour,” said John Bwarie. “And bacon seemed logical in that series.”

The two are keeping the exact stops on the tour a secret -- it’s part of the idea behind Secret City -- but Bwarie did say that previous bites on the bacon tour included a maple bacon doughnut, bacon ice cream and a bacon alcoholic shot. They anticipate visiting five to seven restaurants.

Tour participants get to meet the chef at most of the stops. In some cases chefs will be making off-the-menu items for the tour group.

Bwarie says the tour also includes cultural, historical and political information about Los Angeles.

Tickets are $60 per person and can be purchased online.
