With Dos Pueblos’s top golfer and school record-holder Ryan Ritzau suffering from a chronic wrist injury, the rest of the Chargers rose to the occasion. Playing on a completely unfamiliar course, junior Sean Bowman and freshman Joaqin Mallmann each shot a one-under-par 71 to co-medal for No. 4 Dos Pueblos (13-2, 7-0), which won the Channel League title outright for the first time in a decade, at Rancho San Marcos Golf Course in Santa Barbara.

Junior Cameron DeVries led the way for the 10-year defending league champion Royals (15-7, 5-2), ranked No. 10, by shooting a 71 to share medalist honors. Ritzau and sophomore Jason Bullemer each finished with 74 for Dos Pueblos, which will play its final league match against Santa Barbara next Thursday at Glenn Annie, but can still finish no worse than first place.
