But the No. 5-ranked Warriors tied the score, 1-1, midway through the second half when Court Hale scored a goal off an assist by Ian Ebert.

Saddleback, the No. 7-ranked team in the Southland by The Times, improved to 8-0 with the shootout victory over No. 3 Millikan. Saddleback took a 1-0 lead at the 15:54 mark of the first half when Nixon Valli scored off an assist from James Casas.Casas gave Saddleback a 2-1 lead at the 12:04 mark of the second half when he scored off an assist from Jose Robles. Millikan tied the score, 1-1, on a goal by Pedro Ochoa at the 11:07 mark of the second half, and tied the score, 2-2, 20 minutes later when Froylan Sanchez scored on a penalty kick. Although Millikan lost, the Rams (9-0-2) were given credit for a tie in their record because the loss came on penalty kicks.
