Centennial (11-1) won its 11th consecutive game and advanced to the semifinals for the third consecutive season. The Huskies, section champions in 2000 and ‘02, will face Temecula Valley next Saturday.

Centennial has averaged 42 points a game this season, but figured to be held in check by Murrieta Valley (8-3-1), which allowed an average of only 13.8 points in its first 11 games and yielded only 81 total yards in its playoff victory last week.

“It’s definitely satisfying,” said Minor, who tallied his sixth 200-yard game this season and was a couple of holding penalties short of his third 300-yard game. “They were supposed to be the number one defense and we just did what we always do.”

Murrieta Valley had not allowed more than 21 points in a game this season, but Centennial had that in the first quarter after Minor touchdown runs of 11, 63 and five yards gave the Huskies a 21-0 lead on their first three possessions.

Minor added a 46-yard touchdown run in the second quarter that gave the Huskies a 28-7 halftime lead and made the score 35-14 with a 23-yard score with 4:32 left in the third quarter.

It was the second consecutive five-touchdown game and third this season for Minor, who is among the Southland leaders with 43 touchdowns. Quarterback Chris Scott completed his first 10 passes and finished 13 of 18 for 197 yards and a touchdown.
