Michal Wolde led Mission Valley (3-2, 3-2) finishing the 3.1-mile race in first place with a time of 16:01 at Laguna Niguel Regional Park. Also for Mission Viejo, Ricky Pena came in second with a time of 16:02. Trabuco Hills’ (2-3 in league) leading runner was Ricky Sullivan with a time of 16:15, which was good for third place. Capistrano Valley dropped to 0-5 in league.

Royal, the No. 1 ranked Boys’ team in Division I, easily won the Ventura County championships held over a three-mile course at Lake Casitas. Junior Ted Price of Camarillo was the winner in 15:16 but Highlanders’ Dylan Jaedtke, Mike Cybulski and Jason Pedersen, placed 2-3-4 to pace Royal, which scored 34 points. Westlake was second with 109 and Oak Park, the No. 3 ranked team in Division III, was third with 112 points.

Ivonne Bacio of San Gabriel Mission (3-0 in league) was the individual winner in 22:41 over the three-mile course at the Rose Bowl. St. Genevieve and Sacred Heart is 1-2 in league and Holy Family is 0-3.

Mission Viejo 27, Capistrano Valley 28
Junior Alyssa Brown of Mission Viejo (4-1in league ) was the individual winner in 19:00, with teammate Amanda Carlucci was second, over the 5,000 meter course at Laguna Niguel Park. The Diablos got a come-through performance from freshman Lauren Medina, who fininshed in fifth place, passing a Capistrano Valley runner in the last 30 meters. Capistrano Valley is 3-2.

Ventura, the No. 1 ranked team in Division I and defending State champions, placed four runners in the top six and scored just 26 points to easily win the girls race. Royal, the No. 5 ranked team in Division I, was second with 78 points followed by Westlake with 147. Sophomore Anna Sperry of Simi Valley was the individual winner in 17:54. Ventura’s Emily Spiker was second at 18:11 and teammate Jessica Bryant was third at 18:23.

Erica Estrada of Santiago won the girls’ race over a three-mile course and the Cavaliers had four of the top five finishers en route to a victory in a tri-meet at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley. Nguyen Mai of La Quinta finished second in 19:04 and Yadira Olvera placed third in 19:07.

Sophomore Christina Phillips of Marlborough (5-1 league) was the individual winner in 18:52 over the three-mile course at Rancho Park.

Brad Durant finished first for Arrowhead Christian in 17:12 over the 2.9 mile course at Moreno Valley Calvary Chapel. Steve Hunt of Western Christian finished second in a time of 17:14 and Patrick Wilson of Ontario Christian finished third at 17:25. Ontario Christian improves to 15-1 in league in the final regular season league meet, with league finals on Saturday at the same course.

Mustang Kyla Flores finished first in the 3-mile race with a time of 19:38. Jasmin Day and Emily Cotton finished second and third respectively for Costa Mesa. The Mustangs (6-0 in league) had the top seven finishers in the race.

Susis Capoccia, Aida Benson and Megan Webber finished one, two and three, respectively, for Alverno in the race at the Rose Bowl.
