“The Man From U.N.C.L.E.”: In the Classic Hollywood feature in the Aug. 9 Calendar section about the 1960s TV series “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.,” the first name of David McCallum’s character, Illya Kuryakin, was misspelled in both the article and a caption as Ilya.

Movies channel: In the Aug. 9 Calendar section, a reader’s letter about Turner Classic Movies host Ben Mankiewicz included an error in the headline and text. The channel’s shortened name is TCM, not TMC.

“The Lollygaggers”: An entry for the musical comedy “The Lollygaggers” in the theater openings listings in the Aug. 9 Arts & Books section said the comedy was written by NASA-JPL oceanographer Josh Willis. It left out the name of the show’s co-creator, Rani O’Brien.

Critic’s notebook: In the Aug. 9 Arts & Books section, a column about character development in plays was accompanied by a photo from the Antaeus Theatre Company’s production of “Picnic” that was incorrectly credited to Karianne Flaathen. It was taken by Geoffrey Wade.

Leo Carrillo: A photo caption with an Aug. 9 Calendar section article about the movies of Wallace Beery misspelled the name of actor Leo Carrillo as Carrille.

Brazil smuggling: An article in the Aug. 9 Section A about Brazilians crossing the border for tariff-free shopping referred to the shoppers heading east into Paraguay and west back to Brazil. Paraguay is west of Brazil.

Russia legal claims: In the Aug. 9 Section A, an article about Russian plans to retaliate against European countries that seize Russian assets to satisfy the claims of dispossessed Yukos shareholders incorrectly attributed the $50-billion judgment to the European Court of Human Rights. The court ruled that the charges brought against Yukos Chief Executive Mikhail Khodorkovsky and other executives were politically motivated, but it was the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague that awarded the compensation.

Silicon Valley Bank: An article in the Aug. 8 Business section about Silicon Valley Bank referred to James Slavet as a venture capital investor at Greycroft Partners. His firm is Greylock Partners.
