Fatal 210 Freeway crash in Rialto closes some lanes
A deadly crash on eastbound Interstate 210 in Rialto early Wednesday forced officials to close some lanes, they said.
The crash occurred at 5:20 a.m. when a semi-truck plowed into an SUV parked on the right shoulder of the freeway east of Alder Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The impact propelled the SUV onto a nearby sand embankment, ejecting and killing one of three passengers, officials said.
CHP Officer Ryan Alvarez said the other passengers and the big-rig driver were taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation. Two of four eastbound 210 Freeway lanes were closed.
