Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes near Mammoth Lakes

A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Thursday night six miles from Mammoth Lakes, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 11:30 p.m. PDT at a depth of 3.7 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 73 miles from Clovis, 75 miles from Sanger, and 79 miles from Reedley.

In the past 10 days, there have been eight earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
