Man fatally shot in Carson
Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives were investigating a fatal shooting in Carson on Friday.
The shooting occurred shortly before 6 a.m. in the 23500 block of Panama Avenue.
Deputies responding to a shots-fired call determined that five or six people were socializing inside a garage when someone knocked at the garage door, then opened fire when the door was opened, a statement from the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.
The male victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the sheriff’s department said. The man’s identity was not immediately released.
Investigators had no suspect information, but said they do not believe the incident was gang related.
