Man accused of snatching bike from 11-year-old boy at L.A. park
Investigators are trying to track down a man accused of snatching a bicycle from an 11-year-old boy at a park in South Los Angeles.
The scene of the crime was a Halloween celebration on Oct. 31 at Ted Watkins Memorial Park in Florence-Firestone, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The boy had just won the Micargi beach cruiser -- complete with black frame, green rims and a white seat -- during the party, sheriff’s officials said Tuesday.

At some point, the suspect, described as Latino who is 30 to 35 years old and weighing about 200 pounds, approached the boy and “forcefully pulled” the bike from the boy, the Sheriff’s Department said.
The man then allegedly put a small girl atop the handlebars and pedaled away -- escaping the reach of the young boy and his mother, who chased after the newly won bike.
Investigators say the suspect stands about 5 feet 10 inches and has an “StL” tattoo on his left arm that resembles the logo for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
