Ojai teen, 16, dies after crashing dirt bike in Rowher Flats ravine

A 16-year-old boy from Ojai died Sunday after he was thrown off his motorbike and crashed into it as he slammed to the bottom of a ravine.

Hunter Jacob Baugher was traveling down a steep incline in the Rowher Flats off-road riding area on Lookout Trail, just north of Santa Clarita, California Highway Patrol officials said. About 11 a.m., he made an “unsafe” right turn and veered off the trail before losing control of his motorcycle, a news release from the agency said.

The teenager was ejected from his 2013 Yamaha, and both Baugher and his motorbike flew down the incline. Baugher, who collided with the Yamaha at the bottom of a ravine, was airlifted to Henry Mayo Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, the statement said.
