Inglewood shooting: Two women die from injuries

Two women died of their injuries after being shot at an Inglewood apartment complex Tuesday afternoon, the coroner’s office said.

Both women died Tuesday afternoon at the hospital, said Los Angeles County Coroner spokesman Craig Harvey. One victim was in her 20s and the other is believed to be in her 60s, he said. No other information about the victims was available.

The women were among three people critically wounded during the shooting, according to KTLA-TV Channel 5. Another person was treated for minor injuries and released at the scene, said Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Tony Akins.

Officers responded to a call in the 11700 block of Crenshaw Boulevard at 12:51 p.m. Tuesday, said Inglewood Police Officer Paul Hawkins.

A neighbor told KCAL-TV Channel 9 she saw a woman running up and down the street at the scene.

“She was screaming, saying someone came inside her house and hurt her family,” the woman said.

An investigation into the shooting remained ongoing.
