Victorville man shot to death is identified
Authorities have released the name of a Victorville man who was shot and killed near Arlington Heights Elementary School on Friday afternoon.
Dejon Ward, 21, was seated in his vehicle near Venice Boulevard and 12th Street when a shooter approached on foot and opened fire at about 12:45 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office and the Los Angeles Police Department.
Other news stations have reported that some sort of fight or argument may have preceded the shooting.
Ward died at the scene, authorities said, and the alleged gunman was last seen fleeing in a silver Nissan Armada SUV.
