Man suspected of killing his girlfriend in West Hollywood apartment
A woman was found dead Thursday in a West Hollywood apartment, and her boyfriend was arrested on suspicion of murder, authorities said.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were called about 11:30 a.m. to an apartment in the 8500 block of Holloway Drive, Sheriff’s Deputy Sara Rodriguez said.
In a bedroom, deputies found the body of 30-year-old Iana Kasian, who had suffered blunt force trauma to her head, Deputy Mike Barraza said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
While deputies searched the apartment, they found Kasian’s boyfriend, 35-year-old Blake Leibel, who was taken into custody.
The couple lived together and had a young child, sheriff’s officials said.
It’s unclear when the woman died. Deputies were initially called on Thursday by Kasian’s mother, who reported her daughter missing.
Anyone with information about the slaying is asked to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
