Wrong-way driver causes crash that shuts northbound 14 Freeway
Officials closed all lanes of the northbound 14 Freeway between Santa Clarita and Palmdale on Monday afternoon after, they said, at least three people were injured by a wrong-way driver.
About six vehicles were involved in the crash near near Agua Dulce Canyon Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
Preliminary reports from the scene were that a vehicle was driving south and plowed into a vehicle heading north, the CHP said.
Traffic was snarled for several miles as firefighters and CHP officers gathered at the scene.
Three people were taken to hospitals in critical condition, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.
