Joel Pett is the Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist of the Lexington Herald-Leader. His work also appears in USA Today.

As soon as the gavel fell on the Supreme Court session that began in October, cartoonists fell to judging the justices and executing our verdicts. When the swing vote didn’t go our way, we swung back. Dwane Powell turned on them about overturning precedent, and Chip Bok, like, totally rolled and smoked the high court on the “Bong hits 4 Jesus” ruling. I raced to judgment on the school desegregation case. A final behind-the-sketch note: I don’t know if justices second-guess themselves, but cartoonists do. I’m still deliberating whether the destination window on my ’54 school bus should have read, “Topeka.” I guess you can be the judge.
