To the editor: Concerns about elite private school Harvard-Westlake’s planned expansion — including building a bridge over Coldwater Canyon Avenue in Studio City — extend far beyond traffic congestion. (“Neighbors push back against private schools’ plans to expand,” Aug. 1)

Parents and drivers should foresee the danger of students who are late to class darting across a very busy street for ease, risking their lives. Anyone who thinks these students are going to take the time to cross an overpass is kidding himself.

Let Harvard-Westlake use its existing acreage and hold enrollment to that capacity.
