Letters: Money flows, nothing is done
Re “Campaign finance bills fare poorly,” Sept. 17
Duh. Expecting the California Legislature to reform campaign finance laws is like asking the household mouse population to keep an eye on your cheese.
This is one of the few situations where the referendum option is the obvious first choice for addressing needed change in our state laws.
It is also another important area of public policy in which California can be an example to the rest of the country and to Congress, where campaign money collection seriously needs cleaning up.
