Opinion: Remember when liberals whined about Bush ‘stealing’ the 2000 election?

To the editor: Writing of Donald Trump supporters, Doyle McManus notes that in the past refusing to accept the results of an election was the act of a fringe of angry voters. (“What will Trump supporters do if he loses? A dispatch from Ohio,” Opinion, Oct. 30)

Since 2000, that fringe included Vice President Al Gore and the Democratic Party, which brought the first legal challenge to a presidential election, and Hillary Clinton, who continued to refer to President George W. Bush as “selected.”

I don’t mind people who disagree with me. But I am distressed when they can’t remember something from their own life.
