Share

In the Southern Section, league titles will likely be decided in the South Coast and Angelus leagues, depending on the outcome of Friday’s games matching Mission Viejo and host Tesoro and St. Francis and host Cathedral.

The unpredictable Trinity and Mission leagues resume with more games likely to be decided in the final minute.

There’s the battle of the unbeatens, St. John Bosco vs. JSerra at Orange Coast College. There’s the battle of the Catholic school rivals, Mater Dei vs. Servite at Cerritos College. And there’s the battle to stay relevant in the playoff hunt, Orange Lutheran vs. Santa Margarita at Saddleback College.

In the Mission, Chaminade’s playoff hopes will be fading fast if the Eagles can’t win on the road at Bishop Amat. Alemany will try to regroup after a loss to Bishop Amat with a road game against Loyola. And there’s the almost certain wild finish guaranteed when Crespi meets Notre Dame in Sherman Oaks.

In the Baseline League, top 25 teams Chino Hills and Upland face off at Upland.

Newbury Park gets to see how much improvement it has made with a road game at Westlake.

In the Sunset League, Los Alamitos will try to stay on a path to playing Edison for the league title by facing Newport Harbor on the road.

In the Olympic, unbeaten Maranatha will play host to Village Christian. It’s good preparation before fans will have to wait in line for the rematch during basketball season.

In the City Section, Palisades could demonstrate it’s the Western League favorite if it can beat Venice at Venice. In the Exposition League, Hawkins will host Los Angeles.

In the Northern League, a revitalized Lincoln team will play at Eagle Rock.

In the Eastern League, South Gate gets its strongest test yet from visiting Roosevelt.

In the West Valley League, an improving Taft travels to Chatsworth.
