Football: Dymally forfeits game against Manual Arts and its season could be over

Los Angeles Dymally has forfeited its scheduled football game for Friday against Manual Arts, one week after forfeiting a game against Pasadena Poly.
City Section Commissioner John Aguirre said last week that the section would suspend Dymally’s season if it could not play against Manual Arts. Aguirre is in Sacramento for CIF meetings and is expected to make a final announcement after consulting with Dymally administrators.
Last season, Dymally, in its third season of varsity football, won the Metro League. But its head coach, Juan McDavid, said he was fired after two years and joined Washington Prep with Paul Knox. The school has had difficulty getting players cleared to participate in football, Aguirre said last week.
With Dymally pulling out, Manual Arts has added Cleveland to the schedule on Friday at 3 p.m.
