Girls’ volleyball: Hayley Hodson, Tia Scambray close in on medal

History could be made at the FIVB U18 World Championships in Thailand, where the U.S. Girls’ Youth National Volleyball Team needs one more win in two matches to guarantee a medal, something that hasn’t been done since the event’s inception in 1989.
On the team are junior Hayley Hodson from Corona del Mar and senior Tia Scambray from Dana Hills.
The team plays Brazil in its next match. A win sends the U.S. team into the gold-medal match against the winner of China-Peru on Monday.
