Locals selected as Jewish prep athletes of the year

Quarterback Alexander Diamont of Venice and fencer Jennifer Horowitz of the Archer School for Girls have been selected the male and female high school athletes of the year by the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
They will be honored as part of induction ceremonies for the class of 2014 on Jan. 26 in Bel Air at the American Jewish University, home of the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
Previous winners have included Jordan Farmar, Max Fried, Alix Klineman and Andi Murez.
Also being honored will be Elijah Zabludoff, a senior at Bellflower St. John Bosco who will receive the Allan Malamud Memorial Award for his journalism potential.
