Softball: Pacifica wins Southern Section Division 1 title in 12 innings
Brooke Marquez delivered an RBI double in the 12th inning to help Garden Grove Pacifica emerge with a 1-0 victory over Riverside King on Saturday night in Irvine to win the Southern Section Division 1 softball championship.
Kaylee Carlson, a North Carolina signee, threw her fifth consecutive shutout of the playoffs.
King’s Alexis Osorio, headed to Alabama, came close to matching Carlson on the mound. Osorio struck out 16.
