Lakers progressing in Dwight Howard, Andrew Bynum talks

Talks were progressing once again late Thursday involving Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard coming to the Lakers in a four-team, multi-player proposal that included Andrew Bynum going to the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Lakers wouldn’t comment officially on the rumors, but General Manager Mitch Kupchak was in the office most of Thursday working.

But with so many moving parts, players and contracts, it’s a complicated deal to get consummated.

One example is that some reports have Pau Gasol going to the Magic in the deal, but others have him staying with the Lakers.

Earlier reports Thursday had Philadelphia sending Andre Iguodala to the Denver Nuggets and backup center Nikola Vucevic to Orlando as part of the transaction, with the Nuggets sending Al Harrington to the Lakers and Aaron Affalo to the Magic.

The Magic also was trying to unload guard Jason Richardson, and the Nuggets were interested in taking both Richardson and Iguodala, according to an NBA executive who was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

Lakers Josh McRoberts and Devin Ebanks, who would be a part of a sign-and-trade scenario, were also mentioned as part of the trade.
