Cal Poly hits the century mark against Cal State Northridge

at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 100, Cal State Northridge 54: Chris Eversley scored 19 points, and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (12-8, 3-4 Big West) tied an NCAA record by making 11 consecutive three-point shots. Will Taylor added 18 points and 10 rebounds. Cal Poly’s streak tied the mark set by two schools in January 1987: Niagara against Siena and Eastern Kentucky against North Carolina Asheville.

Michael Lizarraga had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Matadors (5-12, 2-5).

Long Beach State 71, at UC Santa Barbara 48: Larry Anderson scored 19 points and James Ennis and Casper Ware added 14 each to lead the 49ers (14-6, 7-0 in Big West). T.J. Robinson had 11 points and 11 rebounds for Long Beach, which last won their first seven conference games in 1999-2000, when they opened 9-0. Long Beach State has won 16 straight Big West contests. Alan Williams and Orlando Johnson led the Gauchos (9-7, 4-2) with 10 points each.

Brigham Young 77, at Pepperdine 64: Brandon Davies and Noah Hartsock led BYU with 29 and 20 points, respectively. Davies scored 14 points on field goals and was 15 of 18 from the free-throw line for BYU. Taylor Darby sparked Pepperdine (7-12, 1-7 West Coast) with 21 points and eight rebounds. BYU went to the foul line 38 times, making 29. Pepperdine shot only 12 free throws, making eight.

Cal State Fullerton 92, at UC Irvine 84: Omondi Amoke had career highs of 23 points and 17 rebounds, and D. J. Seeley topped his career best with 27 points, including six-for-six three-point shooting for the Titans (12-6, 4-2 Big West). Kwame Vaughn added 25 points. Daman Starring led UC Irvine (6-13, 3-4) with 23 points. Derick Flowers added 18 and Michael Wilder 17. Fullerton dominated the first half, 56-30, but didn’t get a field goal for more than six minutes to open the second half. And the Anteaters got hot, making 10 of 16 three-pointers and scoring 54 points after the intermission.

WOMEN

Oregon 83, at UCLA 62: Jasmin Holliday had 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead Oregon. Liz Brenner contributed 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Ducks. Oregon never trailed in the game and raced to a 52-23 halftime lead. Rebekah Gardner led UCLA (8-10, 3-4 Pac-12) with 22 points and 15 rebounds. Thea Lemberger added 18 points, and Corinne Costa had 10 points and four blocked shots.

Oregon State 65, at USC 61: Sage Indendi scored 17 points, including the game-tying three-pointer in regulation. Then in overtime, the Beavers ended the Trojans’ five-game winning streak. Ali Gibson’s basket with 1:42 left in overtime put the Beavers ahead to stay at 63-61. Ashley Corral led USC (10-7, 5-2 Pac-12) with 20 points.
