Patriots owner Robert Kraft shows acting skills, or lack thereof

Share

Robert Kraft is one of the most respected men in the NFL.

The New England Patriots owner has guided his franchise to three Super Bowl trophies and is widely credited for playing a major role in ending the lockout that threatened the 2011 season.

The man can do pretty much anything (except figure out a way to beat Eli Manning in the Super Bowl), right?

Wrong. He can’t act. He really, really can’t act.

Check out the video (be warned that there’s some bad language at the end) that was first posted by Barstool Sports and has since gone viral. In it, Kraft, 71, reads lines with gal-pal Ricki Noel Lander in a movie audition tape. It’s important to note that it’s her audition tape, not his, so Patriots fans can relax. Kraft won’t be quitting his day job anytime soon.

Not that there was any danger of that. Not with this extremely awkward performance that includes a bizarre dance and an awesome fake punch, which Kraft delivers with his own sound effect, “Bow!” All of which is done, by the way, with Lander wearing a bikini next to a (thankfully) fully-clothed Kraft.

Barstool writer Jerry Thornton told Toucher & Rich on 98.5 the Sports Hub in Boston that the video was sent to him by an anonymous source.

“I’ve had to do a little digging myself and connect a few dots. As far as I can tell, it’s for a new Vince Vaughn-Owen Wilson vehicle called ‘Internship,’” Thornton said. “What we listened to was Bob Kraft doing Owen Wilson banter.”

Kraft seems like a good guy, so hopefully he’s getting a laugh out of all this. I know the rest of us are.
