Vicki Golden captures her second consecutive Moto X Racing title

Vicki Golden blazed past the competition to win her second consecutive Moto X Racing women’s gold medal in a dominating performance.

She finished 7.16 seconds ahead of Puerto Rico’s Tarah Gieger to finish atop the field.

“I got a good start and that was definitely the key,” Golden said. “It was so tight around the first corner, and I just kind of rode my race from there.

“Like last year, I just focused on what I needed to do and hit my marks and do everything I needed to do to stay up and win the race.”

Gieger held off French rider Livia Lancelot by 2.08 seconds for her third consecutive second-place finish, with Lancelot claiming the bronze medal.

Golden, Gieger and Lancelot finished in the same order last year during the inaugural women’s race at X Games.
