Georgia player says house egged after loss to South Carolina

Georgia linebacker Christian Robinson said on his Twitter account that he returned from the Bulldogs’ lopsided loss at South Carolina on Saturday night to find a house he shares with quarterback Aaron Murray “egged and rolled.”

Georgia was No. 5 before the 35-7 loss to South Carolina. The Bulldogs fell to No. 14 in the Associated Press top 25 on Sunday.

Robinson, a senior, concluded that the toilet paper and eggs on the house were a result of the loss. He posted on his Twitter account, “Seems that people turn on you when you’re not perfect. Thought we were in this together.”

Coach Mark Richt says negative feedback from fans is not a surprise. Richt says players in the public spotlight must “be man enough to turn the other cheek.”

TCU meeting

Texas Christian Coach Gary Patterson met Sunday with the school’s chancellor and athletic director about suspended quarterback Casey Pachall.

Patterson said he couldn’t say anything more about Pachall until after some other things are done. He wouldn’t elaborate.

Pachall was indefinitely suspended after being arrested early Thursday on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. That came eight months after the junior quarterback admitted to police that he smoked marijuana and failed a team-administered drug test.

Asked if there was any change in Pachall’s status with the team, Patterson said, “not at this point.”

Redshirt freshman Trevone Boykin threw for 270 yards and had three interceptions Saturday in a 37-23 home loss to Iowa State.

TCU (4-1), which plays Saturday at Baylor, dropped from 15th to out of the latest top 25.

Late Saturday

Marcus Mariota threw for 198 yards and four touchdowns, including two TD strikes to tight end Colt Lyerla, and host Oregon beat Washington, 52-21, on Saturday night.

Mariota rebounded from an interception on the Ducks’ opening series to complete 15 of 24 passes and Oregon (6-0, 3-0 Pac-12) won its ninth straight overall dating to last season, as well as its ninth straight in the series against the rival Huskies (3-2, 1-1).

Lyerla caught three passes for 71 yards, including touchdowns of 10 and 13 yards.

Kenjon Barner, who went into the game ranked 10th in the nation with an average of 121 yards rushing per game, ran for 122 yards and the Ducks built a 35-7 lead at halftime.

Bishop Sankey ran for 104 yards and two touchdowns for Washington.

De’Anthony Thomas opened the scoring for the Ducks when he wove his way through several defenders for a 16-yard touchdown, set up when the Huskies fumbled on a punt return and Oregon’s B.J. Kelley recovered on the Washington 20.
