Serena Williams continued her domination of big sister Venus on Saturday with a 6-1, 6-2 victory in the Family Circle Cup tennis tournament in Charleston, S.C.

Serena’s whipping of Venus in the semifinals was her fifth victory in a row in the sibling rivalry and her 14th straight match win at the Family Cup. Little sister has only dropped two sets in the winning streak, which gives her a 14-10 career record against Venus.

Of course, the two hadn’t played since meeting twice in 2009 during the Sony Ericsson Championships, which feature the top players in the world in round-robin play before single-elimination matches. The two have battled injuries and, in Venus’ case, illness in those four years.

“We’ve definitely been through a lot since our last match. But yeah, we all come together at the end and we just try to love each other like we always do,” Serena said.

Venus had to withdraw from her last tournament because of back spasms and lost the first four games of Saturday’s match, but rebounded to at least put up a fight.

“She’ll never admit it, ever, but I don’t think she was 100 percent,” Serena said of Venus. “But you will never get that out of her, and quite frankly, three matches for her is much tougher than three matches for me.”

Serena will play the winner of the other semifinal match between Jelena Jankovic and Stefanie Voegele.
