Live discussion: How can the Dodgers and Angels right the ship?

Join Times Dodgers writer Dylan Hernandez and Angels writer Mike DiGiovanna at 11:30 a.m. today as they discuss their respective teams. You will be able to submit questions to them during the live chat.

The Angels lost a tough game to Texas on Monday. As DiGiovanna wrote,

“The Angels got a quality start Monday from Joe Blanton, their pitcher who has struggled the most, and a potential breakout night from the weakest link in their lineup, Josh Hamilton, who had his 16th career four-hit game and scored twice.

“But they had nothing to show for it after the Texas Rangers stormed back from a three-run deficit with three runs in the seventh inning and rode A.J. Pierzynski‘s two-out, solo home run to right field against closer Ernesto Frieri in the ninth to a 7-6 victory in Angel Stadium.

“The game, and the Angels’ three-game winning streak, ended with Mark Trumbo, whose walk-off home run gave the Angels a 13-inning win over Detroit on Sunday, striking out on three pitches against closer Joe Nathan.”

Meanwhile, the Dodgers got some bad news when they learned that Chad Billingsley will be sidelined an indefinite period of time because of a sore elbow. As Hernandez wrote,

“When Chad Billingsley was put on the 15-day disabled list Sunday because of pain in his throwing elbow, Manager Don Mattingly wondered if the former All-Star’s season would end on an operating table.

“It’s hard not to think about it,” Mattingly said.

“That’s because Billingsley considered reconstructive elbow surgery last year, when he missed the final month of the regular season because of a partially torn elbow ligament. But instead of resigning himself to a procedure that would sideline him for the entire 2013 season, Billingsley opted for injections of platelet-rich plasma and rehabilitation.”

We will discuss these subjects and more, so join us at 11:30 today!
