Watch AC Milan walk off field in protest of racist chants

An exhibition soccer match between AC Milan and Pro Patria at Busto Arsizio, Italy, was suspended Thursday because of racist chants toward black players on AC Milan. The game was played at Pro Patria’s home stadium.

Kevin-Prince Boateng, Urby Emanuelson, Sulley Muntari and M’Baye Niang were targeted by the chants.

At the 25-minute mark, Boateng kicked a ball into the stands, then removed his shirt and walked off the field, followed by his teammates and the Pro Patria team. You can watch it all in the video above.

“We are disappointed and saddened by what has happened,” Milan Coach Massimiliano Allegri said.

“Milan play for the right to respect all players. We need to stop these uncivilized gestures. We are sorry for all the other fans who came here for a beautiful day of sport. We promise to return, and we are sorry for the club and players of Pro Patria, but we could not make any other decision.

“I hope it can be an important signal.”
