Kings announce preseason schedule

With the NHL regular-season schedule on the verge of being released, the Kings on Wednesday announced their seven-game preseason schedule.

Just two games are to be at Staples Center: Sept. 15 against the Phoenix Coyotes and Sept. 24 against the Ducks.

The Kings, after advancing to the Western Conference finals against eventual Stanley Cup champion Chicago this past season, are also to be the designated home team in a pair of games at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

On Sept. 27 in Las Vegas, the Kings are scheduled to play the New York Rangers, then return Sept. 28 against the Colorado Avalanche.

A split squad of Kings are also to play at Phoenix on Sept. 15.

The full team is set to play the defending Pacific Division champion Ducks at Honda Center on Sept. 17, and at Colorado Sept. 20.

Tickets for the Las Vegas games are on sale. The two games at Staples Center will be placed on sale later this summer, the team announced.

The schedule: Sept. 15 (split-squad) at Phoenix, 7 p.m.; Sept. 15 (split-squad) vs. Phoenix, 7:30 p.m.; Sept. 17 at Ducks, 7 p.m.; Sept. 20 at Colorado, 6 p.m.; Sept. 24 vs. Ducks, 7:30 p.m.; Sept. 27 vs. New York Rangers at MGM Grand, Las Vegas, 7:30 p.m.; Sept. 28 vs. Colorado at MGM Grand, Las Vegas, 7 p.m.
