Report: Carlos Hyde kicked off Buckeyes; Bradley Roby out on bail

Two top members of the Ohio State football program reportedly are in trouble with the law, and one of them is said to have already been dismissed from the team.

Carlos Hyde was kicked off the Buckeyes by Coach Urban Meyer after the running back allegedly assaulted a woman in a downtown Columbus bar over the weekend, the Columbus Dispatch is reporting.

Hyde was named as a person of interest on a police report of an assault at a downtown Columbus bar at about 1:54 a.m. Saturday and was dismissed from the team later that morning, the report says.

The rising senior rushed for 970 yards last season and was expected to have an even bigger impact this year.

The Dispatch is also reporting a separate incident involving starting cornerback Bradley Roby in Indiana. Court records in Monroe County show that Roby was arrested early Sunday morning in Bloomington and faces preliminary charges of misdemeanor battery resulting in bodily injury. He has posted bail.

Roby, projected by many to be an All-American, reportedly refused to leave a bar after a disturbance and had to be subdued by bouncers, sources told the Dispatch.

Meyer is said to still be considering how to handle Roby’s situation.
