Nationals put Bryce Harper on disabled list
Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday because of bursitis in his left knee. The knee has bothered Harper since he crashed into the wall at Dodger Stadium on May 13. He has missed the last five games, and the DL move is retroactive to May 27.
Washington Manager Davey Johnson also said an MRI test showed a slight strain in pitcher Stephen Strasburg’s right side, and the team hopes he can avoid the DL. The right-hander left Friday’s game against Atlanta after two innings.
