Notre Dame football commit gains notoriety with ‘Roll Toilet’ video
It’s a good thing high school football sensation Elijah Hood has a verbal commitment with Notre Dame. He’s literally flushed any chance of playing for at least one other top school right down the toilet.
A junior running back for Charlotte Catholic (N.C.), Hood was just looking for a creative way to make a splash, so to speak, with his first post on the Vine social media site. So he decided to have a little fun at the expense of the team that embarassed his Fighting Irish in the BCS title game this year.
Hood posted a video of himself Tuesday taking an envelope from a recruitment letter from Alabama and flushing it down the toilet, while declaring “Roll toilet!” (a takeoff on the team’s rallying cry, “Roll Tide!”)
The clip ended up taking on a life of its own. Hood seems to have spent most of Tuesday night and some of Wednesday morning discussing it -- explaining that he really does have respect for the Alabama program but seeming pretty pleased with himself at the same time.

The clip has since been removed from Vine. Hood claimed on Twitter that his high school coach told him to do so and to formally apologize, which he does ... eventually.
